The Rainbow Brite revival comes as nostalgia remains a top draw online and among broadcast and cable networks. Netflix this week announced it was rebooting the Care Bears with a new animated series to join The Magic School Bus, a series based on the 1990s children's classic, among others. On the broadcast and cable networks, meanwhile, ABC has found success with 1980s-set live-action comedy The Goldbergs, and reboots of everything ranging from Tom Hanks' Big to Tom Cruise's Minority Report are in the works.
