Cricket grows a rat tail, which everyone loves except for Nancy who think it is unpleasant to look at and tries to convince him to get rid of it. Gramma takes Remy in as her knitting apprentice and he soon takes to it by knitting the perfect glove. Nancy admits to hating Cricket's new hairstyle, but was afraid of turning into her father. Cricket cuts off the rat tail to please Nancy.
