Before the match begins, Noboru meets with Magoroku in the student council room, where it is revealed that Noboru had unwittingly been bribed by Magoroku to lose to him during the previous ABC Cup. However, he decides to not take his bribe this time but still intends to throw the match. With helpful advice from El Quixote, Noboru resolves himself to not only have a fair fight against Magoroku but also reconstruct his deck to include a certain card.
