Karasuno's first opponents are Ougiminami High, one of the teams Shiratorizawa had defeated in the Inter-High Preliminaries. Former Coach Ukai comes along to watch Karasuno play, and the general public comment on how much Karasuno has changed from the rumours. Hinata bumps into Yoshiki Towada in the bathrooms, and vows that Karasuno would beat their team and their future opponents in order to make it into the nationals.
