The National Student Music Competition is approaching. Members of Sendai's Shiseikan High School brass band club come to the Bodhiju Dormitory where Kanade lives. The tough-looking Hozumi, the bright and energetic Mizushima, and Yagisawa, the director who brings them together. While the members of Seisou Gakuin are also practicing for the competition, they encounter Togane, the head of the Jinnan High School Orchestra Club, and Toki, the deputy head of the Jinnan High School Orchestra, who have also come to Yokohama. Togane listens to Kanade's performance and says, "Your performance has no flowers."
