Meanwhile, back in France, it is revealed that Marquise de Pompadour and Praslin were the ones pulling the strings in Russia, and that all her plans for that country have been ruined because of D'Eon's group. It is hinted that her plans are to plant the seeds of rebellion in France, and the Four Musketeers depart for London to follow Maximilien.
