Lupin, Jigen and Goemon end up in jail after being betrayed again by Fujiko and captured by police using the latest high-tech weaponry: armed drones equipped with AI programming and plastic guns which spray quick-setting adhesive. Jigen laments how much has changed in the modern world, and contemplates quitting the thievery business, leaving Lupin and Goemon. After they escape from prison, Jigen plans to go his own way, but through conversations between everyone, including Zenigata, he realizes life is more interesting working with Lupin, and stays behind to let everyone escape and stop Zenigata when he arrives at their hideout. After fleeing, Lupin is confident that they'll see Jigen again soon.
