The residents of Thebes are suffering from a fever epidemic, and the pharaoh is also seriously ill. The wise Ratofer believes that the water of the Nile is poisoned. After invoking the gods, he commissions Papyrus to investigate the causes. Papyrus and Teti sail up the Nile to Nubia. In the jungle they want to find a mysterious black pyramid that is said to be related to the mysterious events. They are joined on their journey by the robber princess Tiya. She promises to show them the way to the pyramid. A journey full of dangers awaits the three.
