The plot against Ryüki and Shürei comes to a head as the conspirators are defeated. Ryüki realizes that the plot is deeper than he at first realized, and that those he deemed most trustworthy may not care about the same people he does. With her task complete, Shürei leaves the palace, and Ryüki finally tells her that he likes women as much as men. He then kisses her in full view of the others, much to her angry chagrin.
