In the year 1862, unrest spreads across Japan following the arrival of the Black Ships. Jinya learns of a cursed sword known as Yatonomori Kaneomi, rumored to be in the possession of a monk serving the Hatakeyama household in Aizu. He visits their residence with Naotsugu, only to discover that the monk has murdered his wife and disappeared.
