The gang want to go to a demolition derby but can't because Ginger's babysitter has hidden the tickets. Tom offers to become the babysitter, but realizes Ginger's carefree activity puts him in a lot of danger, so he eventually places him a person-size hamster ball. The gang get upset that he is becoming overprotective, and have no choice but to trap Tom in the ball.
