A brief battle ensues, and Midori interferes in the fight, prompting the masked figure to invade Midori's mind. Midori's telekinetic counterattack backfires and throws her from the rooftop but Ran interferes, saving her life. Again seeing Midori's memory of her mother's rejection, Ran vows to become her friend and save her from isolation...
