Hazel's dad is excited to go to the 96th Annual Parascience Pageant at the Galax Institute to win the "Persistence in the Face of Doubt Award" but when they go, Hazel's handbag (containing Cosmo and Wanda) get confiscated after magic was detected. Hazel then teams up with Denzel Crocker to get back her fairies. Eventually, when Crocker discovers Hazel's fairies, he plans on turning them into fairy dust.
