Birth of a New Boss Mowgli finds Vermillion and asks him to return to the pack and take Akela's place, but the wolf refuses and advises that the boy propose Luri as leader. Akela agrees to relinquish his power, and so Luri becomes the new leader of the pack even though she is a female.
