The group come across the scene of Clair and Shuichi's fight with Sanbe and their guilty reactions makes Ikeuchi suspicious. Opting to avoid enemy territories Koyanagi leads them around a mountain. Chihiru feels guilty about hiding the information that another monster already has 100 coins but can't bring herself to explain she contacted Elena. Clair realizes too late that the territory markers are actually designed to herd weaker Gatherers into ambushes. They are stopped from escaping by a giant centipede monster named Morita that captures Koyanagi and tries to convince them to join the group, promising they have no plans to rule the world, they just want to do whatever they want without restraint...
